Not mentioned is that the hip-to-hip scar is a trade-off for the procedure benefits. While prominent early on these scars keep improving. By 5 years they are often barely perceptible. Abdominoplasty is a big procedure for sure but has a high satisfaction rate. Revisions and “touch-ups” are rarely indicated.

There are two groups interested in arm lifts: young massive weight loss patients and generally thin, older women who have more wrinkles and skin texture issues rather than lots of hanging skin. In both cases skin removal or skin tightening comes at the cost of a long scar on the inner arm. Older patients exhibit better scar quality because their immune systems are not as reactive. Their scars get thinner and whiter quicker. The scars can be artistically positioned on the inner back corner of the arm, not visible from behind and barely so from the front. Only arms raised overhead fully reveals the scars. Regrets are virtually unheard of.
